The Trinity Christian School of Griffin LIONS lost against the Pike County Pirates back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Trinity Christian School of Griffin took a 55-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pirates.
Trinity Christian School of Griffin's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of McKinleigh Norwood, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and six assists, and Leah McLaurin who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. McLaurin is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Thompson, who scored seven points.
Pike County found their leader in underclassman Sadie Lewis, who scored 18 points along with four steals. Lewis hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Maliyah Holmes was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Trinity Christian School of Griffin's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Pike County, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
Trinity Christian School of Griffin will head out on the road to challenge the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Lafayette Christian will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Pike County will take on the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Peach County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Pirates in Georgia (the Trojans are ranked 136th, while the Pirates are ranked 377th).
