Hanahan has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on The Battery Creek Dolphins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Battery Creek took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Hanahan, who comes in off a win.
You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Hanahan's strategy against North Charleston on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Hanahan blew North Charleston out of the water with a 55-12 final score. Hanahan pushed the score to 42-12 by the end of the third, a deficit North Charleston had little chance of recovering from.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Battery Creek, who are still winless after their eighth game. They were outmatched by Beaufort on the road and fell 41-6. Battery Creek was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 24-3.
Hanahan's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-4. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 6-0 Lucy Beckham and 6-0 Woodland (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 79.2% over those games). As for Battery Creek, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-8.
Everything came up roses for Hanahan against Battery Creek in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 38-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hanahan since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
