The Grafton Bearcats lost to the Preston Knights back in January of 2023, but the Grafton Bearcats didn't allow the Preston Knights the same satisfaction on Tuesday. Grafton walked away with a 59-49 victory over Preston.
Grafton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hadley Horne, who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Horne has scored at least a third of Grafton's points. Another player making a difference was Jazy Ray, who scored 19 points along with five assists.
Grafton has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Preston, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grafton will take on Fairmont Senior at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fairmont Senior is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Preston, they will head out on the road to square off against Philip Barbour at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Philip Barbour will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
