While Dunellen didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Linden Tigers 13-6 on Thursday. Meanwhile,  Watts   struck out 12 batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned  (and four unearned) runs off   four  hits. That's the most  strikeouts  he has posted since back in April of 2024. At bat,  Hutchins  got on base  in four of his five plate appearances with four  stolen bases and three  runs, while  Watts  went 1-for-4 with three  RBI and one  double.
 In other batting news,  Juanluis Rodriguez was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with three  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  RBI. Those  two  hits gave  him a new career-high.  Kristhan Roman Lopez was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with three  RBI and two  runs.
 Dunellen  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .535. They are  a perfect 6-0 when  they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Dunellen pushed their record up to 8-3 with the  win, which was their fourth straight  on the road. Those  road  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Linden,  they are  on  a  six-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-9.
 Coming up, Dunellen will be playing in front of their home fans against Timothy Christian  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. Timothy Christian has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.38  runs per game on average), something Dunellen will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Linden, they are taking a road trip to  challenge Colonia  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their  fourth straight  win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
