The Willcox Cowboys scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They blew past Duncan 73-50. Willcox might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three matches by 23 points or more this season.
Lane Whetten continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jacob Kauffman, who scored 14 points along with four steals.
Willcox's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Duncan, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
Willcox won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Tombstone at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. Tombstone is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. Duncan will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hayden at 5:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Hayden knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Duncan likes a good challenge.
