The Paraclete Spirits will take on the Bishop Montgomery Knights at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Paraclete will be strutting in after a victory while Bishop Montgomery will be coming in after a defeat.
Paraclete was handed a ten-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They skirted past Bishop Amat 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Spirits have posted since May 1, 2025.
Sydney Scripter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Jessa Hettiger and Addi Vandecar did most of the damage at the plate: Hettiger went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Vandecar went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. Vandecar is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Arianna Jackson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Bishop Montgomery's offense. They lost 15-0 to Saint Joseph on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Knights' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Bishop Montgomery saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ajeya Reddy, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Paraclete pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bishop Montgomery, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Paraclete came out on top in a nail-biter against Bishop Montgomery in their previous matchup back in May of 2019, sneaking past 5-4. Will the Spirits repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
