On Saturday, the Hamilton Southeastern Royals faced the Anderson Indians in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Hamilton Southeastern came out on top against Anderson by a score of 58-45. This was payback for Hamilton Southeastern, who suffered a 71-66 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Hamilton Southeastern's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nate Orr, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Orr also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Braeden Totton was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with nine blocks and eight rebounds.
Damien King and Javon Warfield certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. King dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds, while Warfield scored 20 points along with five rebounds. Warfield continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Hamilton Southeastern is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Anderson, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3.
Hamilton Southeastern will be playing in front of their home fans against Zionsville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Zionsville has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests. As for Anderson, Anderson and Harrison will face off at 8:00 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Harrison is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
