The Cannon Cougars will head out to take on the Charlotte Country Day School Buccaneers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cannon will be strutting in after a win while Charlotte Country Day School will be coming in after a loss.
Cannon will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Providence Day, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Cougars came out on top against the Chargers by a score of 4-1 on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Victor Lopez and Avi Pandey dominated on the mound. Lopez pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit, while Pandey tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. What's more, Lopez posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Cannon's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Bennett Miller, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. John Murash also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Wesleyan Christian Academy hit Charlotte Country Day School with a 12-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Buccaneers lost 17-6 to the Trojans. The Buccaneers haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Dominic Ranalli was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits.
At the plate, Nolan Rutherford made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases.
Charlotte Country Day School's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Cannon, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 6-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Cannon has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Charlotte Country Day School struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Cannon's way against Charlotte Country Day School when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Cannon made off with a 7-1 win. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Buccaneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
