With a playoff win on the line, Century rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They blew past the Egyptian Pharaohs 10-0. Considering the Centurions have won nine matches by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Jaylee Vanmeter was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Vanmeter was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
In other batting news, Kali Crain was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Hayden Anderson was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Century always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Egyptian only posted an OBP of .059.
The win made it two in a row for Century and bumps their season record up to 14-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Egyptian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-16.
As of now, neither Century nor the Pharaohs have any future games scheduled.
