Fairview has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Northwestern Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Tuesday, it was a hard-fought match, but Fairview had to settle for a 43-41 loss against the Braves.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Northwestern, who are still winless after their 15th game. They were outmatched by North East on the road and fell 67-30. While losing is never fun, Northwestern can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 716th, while the Grape Pickers are ranked 292nd).
Fairview's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Northwestern, they dropped their record down to 0-15 with that loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Fairview against the Wildcats in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 55-24 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fairview since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
