It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Jeffersontown ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They secured a 70-65 W over Holy Cross. The victory was just what Jeffersontown needed coming off of a 94-69 loss in their prior contest.
Butler has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 20 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Doss 76-45 at home. Given Butler's advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 69th, while Doss is ranked 236th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jeffersontown's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Butler, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Jeffersontown skirted past Butler 52-49 in their previous meeting back in March. Will Jeffersontown repeat their success, or does Butler have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
