It was a good run, but the Rome Free Academy Black Knights unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Proctor by a score of 73-70. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (59), Rome Free Academy still had to take the loss.
Rome Free Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Uzziah Grimes, who scored 27 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, and Surafia Norries who scored 22 points along with three steals. The game was Grimes' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Deandre Neal, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Rome Free Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Proctor, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Rome Free Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Bishop Ludden at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New York (Bishop Ludden is ranked 96th, while Rome Free Academy is ranked 85th). Proctor and Cicero-North Syracuse will round out the year against one another at TBD on December 29th at. Cicero-North Syracuse knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Proctor likes a good challenge.
