The Ness City Eagles will be home for the holidays to greet the Dighton Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Ness City is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Dighton in Kansas (Ness City is ranked 139th, while Dighton is ranked 290th).
Last Friday, everything came up roses for Ness City at home against Kinsley as the squad secured a 44-10 win. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Ness City has managed all season.
Ness City got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Savannah Buller out in front who scored seven points. Another player making a difference was Tiana Smith, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Dighton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Wallace County an easy 52-27 win. Dighton has not had much luck with Wallace County recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
The win got Ness City back to even at 3-3. As for Dighton, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-5.
Ness City strolled past Dighton in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 43-26. Will Ness City repeat their success, or does Dighton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
