Nampa Christian won the last time they faced Marsing and things went their way on Monday too. The Trojans put the hurt on the Huskies with a sharp 13-1 win. Considering the Trojans have won seven games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Peyton Shook made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Ashlynn Swank was incredible, going 3-for-5 with five stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addison Gray, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Nampa Christian has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Marsing, they dropped their record down to 10-9 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.
