Eastbrook had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 8-6 to make it four. They fell just short of the Oak Hill Golden Eagles by a score of 5-4. The Panthers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Golden Eagles from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.
Delanie Elliott was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits. Elliott was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Mya Peterson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-5 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
As for Oak Hill, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since April 13th.
On Oak Hill's side, Pathie Speicher spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits.
On the hitting side, Kora Weller was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one double. Madi Evans was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one double.
Coming up, Eastbrook will face off against Lewis Cass at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Oak Hill, they will take on Whitko at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.07 runs per game on average), something the Golden Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
