If the Wilson Prep Tigers were feeling good off their 76-25 takedown of the Northwest Halifax Vikings on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Wilson Prep was the victim of a rough 78-52 loss at the hands of Greenfield on Saturday. Wilson Prep was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Greenfield apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
Despite the loss, Wilson Prep still got an impressive performance from Ben Ferguson, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Leslie Minter, who scored 11 points.
Wilson Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Greenfield, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 25-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wilson Prep's homestand continues as they prepare to take on KIPP P at 8:00 p.m. on February 6th. One thing working in KIPP P's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matchups. As for Greenfield, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Cape Fear Academy at 8:00 p.m. Greenfield has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 690 points over their last nine matches.
