The Lawrence County Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Central Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Central took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Lawrence County, who comes in off a win.
On Monday, Lawrence County narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Hatton 46-44.
Lawrence County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaiden Wear out in front who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Dame, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Central's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 49-18 loss at the hands of Brooks. While losing is never fun, Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 351st, while Brooks is ranked 66th).
The win got Lawrence County back to even at 6-6. As for Central, they bumped their record down to 1-6 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
Lawrence County was able to grind out a solid win over Central in their previous matchup back in November, winning 61-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lawrence County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
