It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the West Craven Eagles had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against North Pitt by a score of 22-12. That result was just more of the same for these two, as West Craven also won the last time the pair played two weeks ago.
West Craven's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but DJ Davis led the charge by rushing for 48 yards and two touchdowns. West Craven also got help from Reginald Lancaster who showed off his sure hands for 81 receiving yards.
Despite the loss, North Pitt still got an impressive performance from Trevon Cannon, who threw for 210 yards and two touchdowns on only 17 passes.
West Craven's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. As for North Pitt, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.
West Craven will head out on the road to face off against Nash Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Nash Central's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three games. North Pitt does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
