The Fleming Island Golden Eagles lost against the Buchholz Bobcats back in December of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Fleming Island fell 24-14 to Buchholz. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Fleming Island has scored all season.
Ariana Pierce was Fleming Island's leading scorer, having posted five points. Pierce also led the team in rebounds with four.
London Jenkins took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.
Fleming Island bumped their record down to 3-6 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Buchholz, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fleming Island will be home for the holidays to greet Trinity Catholic at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Buchholz will be home for the holidays to greet Hawthorne at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
