Softball Recap: Franklin Community Victorious

Franklin Community won the last time they faced Columbus East and things went their way on Saturday too. The Grizzly Cubs walked away with a 10-7 victory over the Olympians. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Grizzly Cubs.

Bryleigh Carlisle-Haltom spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Franklin Community got a big performance out of Addie Martin, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Martin is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Charlee Cramer was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Franklin Community kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Franklin Community now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Columbus East, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Looking ahead, Franklin Community will head out on the road to take on Mooresville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pioneers will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Grizzly Cubs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Columbus East, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jennings County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
