Bennett is 10-0 against Platte Canyon since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Bennett Tigers will be playing at home against the Platte Canyon Huskies at 6:00 p.m. Bennett will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
On Tuesday, Bennett beat Arvada 53-42.
Jessica Venneberg and Lily Venneberg were among the main playmakers for Bennett as the former scored 22 points and the latter scored 25 points. Venneberg has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times she's played. Raquel Thorpe was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Meanwhile, winning is just a little bit easier when your three-point shooting is a whole 95% better than the opposition, a fact Platte Canyon proved on Saturday. They blew past Fort Lupton, posting a 37-9 victory at home. That looming 37-9 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Platte Canyon yet this season.
Platte Canyon can attribute much of their success to Liza Lineberry, who scored nine points along with 11 steals. Another player making a difference was Sydney Curtis, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Bennett's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. As for Platte Canyon, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Bennett hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 55.4 points per game. It's a different story for Platte Canyon, though, as they've been averaging only 32 points per game. The only thing between Bennett and another offensive beatdown is Platte Canyon. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Bennett skirted past Platte Canyon 42-39 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Will Bennett repeat their success, or does Platte Canyon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
