The Lee County Yellow Jackets''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Scotland, falling 56-21. Lee County lost against Scotland in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 40-32 score last time.
Lee County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Terrance Mckendall, who rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown. Jack Martin was another key contributor, rushing for 42 yards and a touchdown.
Zay Jones was a one-man wrecking crew for Scotland as he rushed for 266 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. Jones' longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Quatavius Everette, who picked up 134 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Lee County has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Scotland, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-1.
Lee County will square off against Southern Lee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Southern Lee will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last. As for Scotland, they will be playing at home against Richmond at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Richmond is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
