The Loma Linda Academy Roadrunners and the La Salle Lancers squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but sadly the Loma Linda Academy Roadrunners had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a rough 76-29 loss at the hands of the Lancers. While losing is never fun, Loma Linda Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1066th, while La Salle is ranked 439th).
La Salle was led to victory by Emmitt Claiborne and Ryan Hajjar. Claiborne scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Hajjar scored 20 points along with five steals. Hajjar is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Jonah Thaxton was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six steals.
Loma Linda Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 11-15. As for La Salle, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season.
Loma Linda Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for La Salle, they will head out on the road to challenge Cabrillo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. La Salle has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 445 points over their last seven matches.
