The Sullivan Golden Arrows came tearing into Saturday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by White River Valley at home to the tune of 73-43. Given Sullivan's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while White River Valley is ranked 362nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Marcus Roshel, who scored 26 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Bock, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and four blocks.
Sullivan's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for White River Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sullivan will take on Brown County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for White River Valley, they will be playing at home against Owen Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Owen Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Saturday.
