On Monday, the Sultana Sultans's game was all tied up 26-26 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 46-45 victory over Hesperia Christian. The win made it back-to-back wins for Sultana.
Leading Sultana to victory were Kenyon Peters and Alec Rodriguez. Peters scored ten points along with five steals, while Rodriguez scored 17 points along with five steals. That's the first time this season that Peters grabbed two or more steals.
Sultana's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7. As for Hesperia Christian, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Sultana will be home for the holidays to greet Big Bear at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Big Bear focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Monday. As for Hesperia Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Apple Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Apple Valley will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
