The Elkhorn South Storm's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They lost to Westview at home by a decisive 70-52 margin. Elkhorn South was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Westview apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Elkhorn South still got an impressive performance from Lincoln Schwarz, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Skradis, who scored 12 points.
Even though they lost, Elkhorn South were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Elkhorn South has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Westview, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-4.
Elkhorn South will face off against Omaha Westside on Saturday. Omaha Westside presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Elkhorn South in Nebraska (Omaha Westside is ranked 26th, while Elkhorn South is ranked 175th). As for Westview, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Creighton Prep at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
