The Kaplan Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by St. Martinville 73-19. Kaplan has struggled against St. Martinville recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Leading St. Martinville to victory were Delian Mallery and Makharee Narcisse. Mallery scored 13 points along with seven rebounds, while Narcisse scored 15 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylon Jones, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Kaplan has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season. As for St. Martinville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-15 record this season.
Kaplan will head out on the road to take on Lake Arthur at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Martinville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Abbeville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Abbeville is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
