The University Prep Panthers and the Franklin Yellowjackets will face off at 5:00 p.m. on December 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (University Prep has three straight victories, Franklin has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
University Prep has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 23 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 75-52 margin over Las Plumas.
University Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Scott Steffan led the charge by dropping a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. Steffan set a new season high mark in rebounds with 13. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Huegel, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Franklin, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-39 loss to Calaveras on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Franklin in their matchups with Calaveras: they've now lost six in a row.
University Prep now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Franklin, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
