The Baker Gators posted their biggest victory since November 30, 2023 on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 38-18 margin over Gulf Pointe Latin. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Baker also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Baker had a senior duo take command as Karsyn Crinklaw scored four points along with 16 rebounds and five steals and Lily Adams scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Crinklaw pulled down eight or more rebounds. Mckenzie Mcgraw was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Gulf Pointe Latin's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Coral Hamer, who scored two points along with 11 rebounds and four steals. Hamer has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played.
Baker's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Gulf Pointe Latin, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Baker the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Jay at 6:30 p.m. on January 22nd. Jay presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Baker in Florida (Jay is ranked 72nd, while Baker is ranked 348th). As for Gulf Pointe Latin, they will be playing at home against East Hill Christian at 5:29 p.m. on Tuesday. East Hill Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
