Junction City is 4-0 against Gurdon since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Junction City Dragons will be playing at home against the Gurdon Go-Devils at 7:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Junction City's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Gurdon has been banged up by 14 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Even though Junction City has not done well against Fordyce recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Junction City came out on top against Fordyce by a score of 65-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Junction City had a senior duo take command as Deontae James scored 20 points along with six assists and three steals and Montra Hankton scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Hankton is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Pechone Larry, who scored eight points.
Gurdon suffered their biggest defeat since December 1, 2023 on Tuesday. They were the victim of a rough 56-31 loss at the hands of Woodlawn.
Junction City is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Gurdon, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.
Junction City took their victory against Gurdon in their previous matchup back in January of 2022 by a conclusive 55-34. Will Junction City repeat their success, or does Gurdon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
