The Shannon Red Raiders lost against the Ripley Tigers two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Shannon was beaten by Ripley 74-46. Shannon was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-11.
Ripley was led to victory by Alorian Story and Emma Barkley. Story scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, while Barkley scored 27 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Barkley has scored all season. Taylor Spight was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Shannon has not been sharp recently as the team has lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-17 record this season. As for Ripley, their win bumped their record up to 10-16.
Shannon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ripley, they will head out on the road to face off against Houston at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Ripley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Friday.
