The Westfield Shamrocks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Brownsburg by a score of 59-57. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Saturday (55), Westfield still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Westfield still got an impressive performance from Ellie Kelleher, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 31 points and 3 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kelleher has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Lindsey Van dyke, who scored five points along with five steals.
Westfield has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season. As for Brownsburg, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-11.
Westfield will head out on the road to take on Ben Davis at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Brownsburg won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Terre Haute North Vigo at 1:30 p.m. on January 20th. Terre Haute North Vigo will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 285th, while Brownsburg is ranked 56th).
