The Willits Wolverines's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. The New Year welcomed they with a 71-43 whooping from Cloverdale. Willits lost against Cloverdale in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 61-36 score last time.
Jordan Patton was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points for Cloverdale. That makes it four consecutive games in which Patton has scored at least 25% of Cloverdale's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Garibaldi, who scored 16 points.
Willits has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Cloverdale, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Willits will take on Clear Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Clear Lake's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches. As for Cloverdale, they will be playing at home against St. Helena at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Helena will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
