Toombs County has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against The Vidalia Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Vidalia took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Toombs County, who comes in off a win.
Toombs County stacked a sixth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Windsor Forest 48-0 at home. Given Toombs County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 99th, while Windsor Forest is ranked 346th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tj Stanley was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 36 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 123 yards and a touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes. Dabvn Wadley was in the mix too, providing Toombs County with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Vidalia had to suffer through a rough 35-7 loss at the hands of Pierce County. Vidalia has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Toombs County's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Vidalia, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Everything came up roses for Toombs County against Vidalia in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 34-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Toombs County since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
