It was a good run, but the Taylor Titans unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Northwestern by a score of 44-42. Taylor was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Northwestern apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Despite the defeat, Taylor had strong showings from Javionne Harris, who scored 9 points along with 10 rebounds, and Dre McClatchey, who scored 16 points. The matchup was McClatchey's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Christian Hall, who scored 6 points along with 3 steals.
Taylor's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Northwestern, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Taylor will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Rossville at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Northwestern won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Frankfort at 7:30 p.m. on December 9th. Frankfort comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
