Basketball Recap: Willapa Valley Piles Up the Points Against North Beach

Willapa Valley had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 35-point drubbing they dealt North Beach on Tuesday. The Willapa Valley Vikings blew past the North Beach Hyaks 74-39. The Vikings' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Blane King was nothing short of spectacular: he went 8 of 13 en route to 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Sliva, who posted 11 points.

Willapa Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Several Hyaks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Parker Johnson, who had seven points. Another player making a difference was JJ Eastman, who put up nine points in addition to five boards and five blocks.

The win got Willapa Valley back to even at 2-2. As for North Beach, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Willapa Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 56-30 victory against Pe Ell on the 14th. As for North Beach, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-39 win against Northwest Christian on the 13th.
