Baseball Recap: Holmen Wins Going Away Against Superior

Holmen barely beat Superior the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Vikings blew past the Spartans 15-5 on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won six matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Abe Henderson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Rosenow, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs.

The victory made it two in a row for Holmen and bumps their season record up to 12-4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Superior, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.

Looking ahead, Holmen will welcome Onalaska at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Superior, they will square off against D.C. Everest at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
