The Santee Falcons's four-game losing streak came to an end on Wednesday. They escaped with a win against Maywood CES by the margin of a single free throw, 38-37. The win was just what Santee needed coming off of a 46-26 defeat in their prior matchup.
Santee got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Darnell Miller out in front who scored 10 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Miller has scored at least 25% of Santee's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ramaan Payre, who scored 8 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Santee's win bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Maywood CES, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Santee will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Manual Arts at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th. Manual Arts will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. As for Maywood CES, they will head out on the road to face off against University at 4:30 p.m. on December 14th. Hopefully University focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Saturday.
