The Westmont Warriors will take on the Gilroy Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Westmont is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Hillsdale just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Fighting Knights by a score of 6-4.

Regan Steele was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Marina Li was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylin Yee, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Gilroy hadn't done well against Hollister recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Mustangs' pitcher stepped up to hand the Haybalers a 12-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won seven games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Ariela Yslava was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Yslava was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Dani Wilson and Jennie Hernandez did most of the damage at the plate: Wilson scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Hernandez went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Hernandez has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Bam Mendoza, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Gilroy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .522. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Gilroy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Westmont, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.
Westmont might still be hurting after the 15-2 defeat they got from Gilroy when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Warriors have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
