Balboa School scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Mitchell 99-47 at home. That 52 points margin sets a new team best for Balboa School this season.
Balboa School was led to victory by Kendall Connor and Vito Albanese. Connor dropped a double-double on 18 points and 18 rebounds, while Albanese went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Albanese has scored all season. Jamaal Phatty was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Balboa School's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-8. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.5 points per game. As for Mitchell, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Balboa School will face off against Victory Rock Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Victory Rock Prep comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Mitchell, Mitchell and Wesley Chapel will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Wesley Chapel knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 19 matches -- so hopefully Mitchell likes a good challenge.
