The DASH United struggled with three-point shooting accuracy on Friday (the South Wake Sabres were 32% better) and sadly the final score reflected it. DASH was beaten by South Wake 106-34. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for DASH in their matchups with South Wake: they've now lost five in a row.
DASH's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jason Judd, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Josh Taylor, who scored eight points.
South Wake got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Taevian Ingram out in front who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ingram has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Woolard, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
DASH now has a losing record at 9-10. As for South Wake, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. DASH on the road again on Thursday and play against New Life Camp at 8:00 p.m. on February 1st. New Life Camp has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 30. As for South Wake, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Chatham HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on January 27th. Chatham HomeSchool knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine contests -- so hopefully South Wake likes a good challenge.
