Hoosier Crossroads recap October 1, 2013
Fishers extended the longest winning streak in Hoosier Crossroads this week by beating McCutcheon, 47-28. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Tigers.
Fishers was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fourth to second in the league. Rick Wimmer's team beat the Mavericks 47-28 earlier in the week.
Westfield's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Nick Ferrer threw for 262 and 3 touchdowns and Devin Reece had 122 yards receiving. On the ground Frank Grimes contributed 116 yards. Ben Lotfalion helped Westfield's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 116 yards.
He was 19-29 with 0 interception.
Grimes was the best running back in the league this week. In 24 carries, he ran for 116 yards as the Shamrocks beat Hamilton Southeastern. Elvin Caldwell also contributed to the rushing game with 76 yards on the ground.
Leading Hoosier Crossroads in both passing and receiving yards, Westfield's Ferrer and Reece have proven to be a lethal combination. Ferrer has thrown for 1,138 yards this season, while Reece, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 41 catches for 497 yards. David Schall from Avon leads the league in rushing with 711 yards.
The Tigers are in second place, while Zionsville is in fifth place.
Lafayette Jefferson lost to Brownsburg 28-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
