The Mitchell Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 61-21 loss at the hands of Torrington. While losing is never fun, Mitchell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 211th in Nebraska, while Torrington is ranked 34th in Wyoming).
Kate Pieper was Mitchell's leading scorer, having posted ten points.
Addy Bowlin held things down on the boards with six rebounds.
Mitchell has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Torrington, they pushed their record up to 3-7 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Mitchell on the road again on Saturday and play against Bridgeport at 3:30 p.m. on January 13th. Bridgeport is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Torrington, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Wheatland at 4:30 p.m. on January 19th. Wheatland will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
