A feisty cat fight will be fought as Rio Hondo Bobcats duke it out with Valley View Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Wednesday, Rio Hondo made easy work of La Villa and carried off a 12-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won seven in a row.

Christopher Galvan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last six games.
In other batting news, Nathan Ortega was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. Another player making a difference was Aidyn Flores, who got on base in five of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Rio Hondo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .588. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Valley View entered their tilt with La Feria on Friday with five consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Lions 8-2.
Like Rio Hondo, Valley View also got a great game from a two-way player: David Justice. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. Justice was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Julio Sierra, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Emiliano Rodriguez was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Rio Hondo pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Valley View, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Rio Hondo has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Valley View struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
