Basketball Recap: Buffalo Valley Piles Up the Points Against Clayton

Buffalo Valley was handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Clayton on Monday. The Buffalo Valley Buffaloes took their match with ease, bagging a 40-11 win over the Clayton Bulldogs. The Buffaloes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 23 points or more this season.

Buffalo Valley was led to victory by Raelea Johnson and Tristyn Kirkes. Johnson went 5 of 12 to rack up 13 points along with five rebounds and five steals, while Kirkes posted ten points and eight boards. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Katie Kennedy, who had four points and five rebounds.

Buffalo Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Buffalo Valley pushed their record up to 17-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.8 points over those games. As for Clayton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-7.
