Even though Pocomoke has not done well against Bennett recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Pocomoke took down Bennett 42-24. The win was just what Pocomoke needed coming off of a 72-35 defeat in their prior matchup.
Donyae Washington continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 16 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last 16 games she's played. Maddie Esham was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Kent County scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They came out on top against North East by a score of 51-39.
Zoe Angenieux was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Kent County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Talicia Wright, who scored 18 points.
Pocomoke's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Kent County, their win bumped their record up to 5-13.
Everything went Pocomoke's way against Kent County in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as Pocomoke made off with a 60-39 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Angenieux, who scored 25 points. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Pocomoke still be able to contain Angenieux? There's only one way to find out.
