The Flowing Wells Caballeros are taking a road trip to take on the Buena Colts at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Flowing Wells took a 15-run loss the last time they faced off against Pueblo, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Caballeros narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Warriors 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Caballeros have posted since March 27th.

The team relied heavily on Brisiana Quevedo, who went 3-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Flowing Wells kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Desert View typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Buena proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Jaguars by a score of 10-5. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 24, 2022, but that streak is no more.
Ariella Antemann made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Antemann was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Buena let Yanissa Long and Hailey Larson run wild. Long went 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs, while Larson went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Larson is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aryanna Garcia, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Buena pushed their record up to 7-18 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Flowing Wells, their record is now 14-15.
Flowing Wells came out on top in a nail-biter against Buena when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 10-9. Will the Caballeros repeat their success, or do the Colts have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
