Happy Camp suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. Their tough 51-31 defeat to Hayfork might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Happy Camp has suffered against Hayfork since January 30, 2020.
Meanwhile, winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 18 to ten on the offensive boards, a fact Surprise Valley proved on Thursday. They walked away with a 43-33 win over Big Valley. The win was just what Surprise Valley needed coming off of a 55-34 defeat in their prior match.
Casey Grove was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Surprise Valley's points. Another player making a difference was Andrew Eichstadt, who scored five points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Happy Camp's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Surprise Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season.
Happy Camp beat Surprise Valley 38-28 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Does Happy Camp have another victory up their sleeve, or will Surprise Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
