Softball Recap: Arab Has No Trouble Against Fairview

With a playoff win on the line, Arab rose to the challenge on Monday. Everything went their way against the Fairview Aggies as they made off with a 7-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Aggies: they've now won six in a row.

Madi Hartline spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Lola Davis was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 11 matchups. Mattie Couch was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Arab was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Arab pushed their record up to 14-20-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Fairview, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-14 record this season.

Arab wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Scottsboro on the 28th. Fairview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
