The Leeds Greenwave will head out on the road to challenge the St. Clair County Fighting Saints at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Leeds will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
Last Thursday, Leeds made easy work of Pinson Valley and carried off a 14-4 win. Fans of the Greenwave have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Nash Jones was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Jones was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. He also put up a stolen base, which was his first of the season.
In other pitching news, Joseph Bryant looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

Back at the plate, Leeds got a massive performance out of Ty Bedell, who scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Bedell a new career-high in stolen bases. Conner Nelson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2.
Leeds kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matches dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for St. Clair County's offense. They came up short against Westbrook Christian on Friday, falling 13-0. The Fighting Saints have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Leeds' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.3 runs. As for St. Clair County, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
St. Clair County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Leeds hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .435. It's a different story for St. Clair County, though, as they've only averaged .205. Will they be able to contain Leeds' hitters?
Leeds was able to grind out a solid win over St. Clair County in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 17-12. Does Leeds have another victory up their sleeve, or will St. Clair County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
